Talking Points Episode 20
Saturday May 28, 2011
Saturday May 28, 2011
Dave and Adrian were joined by not one but TWO guests this week as former England hooker and current Leigh Assistant Coach Paul Rowley dropped in and was joined by BARLA Press Officer and Open Age Chair Steve Manning. Things discussed included the NRL, Queensland, the Amateur games big weekend, Co-operative Championships, the Carnegie Challenge Cup and Paul answered questions from fans. It was our biggest show to date and to be fair it was so big we couldn't fit in our normal studio and ended up having to record from a different place. Sadly we couldn't do a lot about the background music but we hope it doesn't detract too much from what was an enjoyable and informative show.

In Episode 18 of Talking Points Dave Parkinson is joined by Adrian Jackson. They both go through events of a busy weekend in Australia which included the ANZAC test, a split NRL round and a Country v City Origin trial. The pair also cast their eyes on the National Conference League play-offs, go through all the happenings in the Carnegie Challenge Cup, look forward to Round Five and preview the forthcoming weekend action across Super League, Championship and Championship One. As usual, what you say is explored in Fan Points where the lads questioned dual contracts and Challenge Cup formats and hear what Catalan boss Trent Robinson has to say about games at Easter. It's another jam packed show and after a last minute change of plan this week we are looking forward to welcoming Paul Rowley next week. Dave Parkinson returns after the Easter period with more of the best Rugby League chat on the internet. James Gordon joined Dave and the pair had plenty to say. They gave an update on all the results from two rounds of the NRL and chatted about the upcoming ANZAC Day test. Dave then talked about the exciting finish to the National Conference league season and an exciting start to life in their new competition for the Valley Cougars before focusing on Hull Dockers finish in particular. The pair then went through the results from the three bank holiday games played across Championship One, Championship and Super League including discussion about South Wales Scorpions, Keighley, Leigh, Featherstone, Halifax, Barrow, Catalan, Wigan, St Helens and Leeds amongst others with James suggesting that Dave could have a new friend. Dave also went through this weekend's cup fixtures. We always welcome fan thoughts and this episode was no different as fans points on Harlequins brought some of the best opinion from James and it was good to hear about Durham Tigers and Elmbridge Eagles. Next time out Leigh Assistant coach and former Centurions, Halifax, Huddersfield and England hooker Paul Rowley is our guest and we'd love to ask him some of your questions. Please post them on our facebook page: www.facebook.com/loverugbyleague or tweet Dave @DParkyRL on Twitter.
